Final Club competition of the year.  Fishing times are 0900 until 1700. Places are still available. Please sign in at the fishing hut. It has been suggested that a £5.00 donation (or more if you choose) be levied for this competition with all the proceeds going to Macmillan Cancer Support.

First away competition/day trip is at Swanswater Fishery, Sauchieburn, Stirling, Stirlingshire, FK7 9QB. Fishing times are from 09.00 until 17.00.

Saturday 8 May 2010 saw the first day trip/competition to Swanswater Fishery, Stirling. The day started with the overnight frost clearing, and cold, but light winds from the North East. With clear skies, it was not a good day for fishing. Maximum day temperatures only reached 13 Celsius. Even the local and regular anglers were struggling to catch fish. It was a day of keep moving and try every fly in your box. Nothing worked twice. Heaviest bag went to William Taylor with four fish for 10 lb. 9 oz. Biggest fish of the day was a Rainbow Trout of 3 lb. 2 oz. caught by Harry Simmonds. A pleasant day was had by all even although the Club turn-out was poor.

A working party will be attempting to improve the bank side drainage around Kype Reservoir. All additional assistance will be greatly appreciated. Volunteers to meet at the club hut for 10.00 a.m. on the day.
