STOCK MANAGEMENT
FISH STOCKS
Kype Reservoir is stocked four times a year with top
quality, hard fighting Rainbow Trout in the 1.5 lb. to 5lb. range. The fourth
stocking, just before the club’s home competition in August, is with fish in the
2 lb. to 6 lb. range. There are Blue Trout, Tiger Trout and a natural stock of
Brown Trout present in the Reservoir. Due to the close season restrictions, a
number of the stocked fish get a chance to ‘over winter’.
PERMITTED
TAKE
For fish stock management purposes to the benefit of all
members, a total of six fish per week can be caught, up to a total of thirty
fish. The figure of six fish per week reduces there after to three fish per
week. These figures are subject to regular review. There is no limit for Brown
Trout at Kype Reservoir.
